Songwriters In the Round at Happy Time Studio in Historic Downtown Issaquah’s Creative District

You might be thinking – What is “In the Round”?
“In the Round” comes from a tradition of bringing performers off the stage and into a more intimate space with the audience. At Happy Time, they feature two (or more) songwriters who will share the stage and trade songs and stories with each other. And you – the audience – get to see it all happen as if it’s in your own living room.

Tickets: For this special showcase, we are offering 25 tickets. The majority of ticket sales go to the performers. You are invited to choose your ticket price based on what you are able to contribute, using one of the links below:

About the artists:

KAT BULA: If you’ve only seen Kat Bula shredding on fiddle and vocal harmonies behind other artists, you may not realize she’s also a serious songwriter in her own right. With an irreverent respect for tradition, a poet’s aversion to non-load-bearing lyrics, a fearless imagination and an unapologetically older-millennial sensibility, Kat Bula brings a singular voice to contemporary bluegrass and Americana. Check out her website and instagram for more information, songs, and videos.

AMELIA DAY: Amelia Day is a queer folk rock powerhouse entering the conversation with mainstays like Brandi Carlile, the Indigo Girls, and Tracy Chapman. Underscoring her carefree melodies with gritty, confessional lyricism and raw, heartfelt delivery, she performs with an intimacy that makes even new listeners feel familiar. Check out her website and instagram for more information, songs, and videos.

About the space: Happy Time’s workshop space will transform into a living room-style acoustic venue. There will be 10-20 chairs available, some floor pillows, and perhaps some standing room.

Be prepared to sit right on the rug, or stand, and please offer chairs to the folks who need them the most.

The showcase lasts about an hour.
