Artist William Cook, The Language of Trees, Gallery Reception in the Historic Downtown Issaquah Creative District

Happy Times Studio, now located on Front Street, in the historic downtown Creative District, is pleased to invite you to their very first opening reception on the evening of May 18 from 6pm-9pm.

Meet the artist, view his work, and learn about his upcoming linocut and monotype workshops, while catching  up with your arts community.

“The Language of Trees” features new and recent works by local printmaker and painter William Cook. This display of ethereal monotype and perspective-bending linocut is sure to feel at once familiar and striking.

From the artist:
“They’ve always been here and hopefully will be here long after we’re gone. And yet, as we live our lives among these silent living beings, we rarely take the time to stop and wonder what their lives are like. How they feel about us. If they could speak, what would they say?

Local artist Carol Ross will also be in the studio from 6:30-8pm for a live artist demonstration of the sumi ink process, which she’ll be teaching at the studio on June 29.

May 18 is also the Downtown Issaquah Art & Wine Walk, so you can make a night of it, there will be plenty to see and do!
