The Visit Issaquah Destination Stewardship Strategic Plan establishes a living framework to guide the city’s visitor economy toward a regenerative, community-led future. Rooted in values of stewardship, creativity, collaboration, and long-term resilience, the framework goes beyond traditional tourism planning. It seeks to balance economic vitality with ecological health, cultural integrity, and community well-being.
The Vision and Approach was co-created in 2025 by a diverse cohort of local stakeholders, including businesses, nonprofits, government representatives, and the Snoqualmie Tribe, through deep engagement, training in regenerative principles, and building upon extensive community consultation. This process resulted in a 100-year vision for Issaquah’s visitor economy, ideal visitor personas, shared values, and a set of 10-year targets with specific SMART goals.
