IssaQuest GeoTour

Welcome to the city of Issaquah’s sustainability themed GeoTour, IssaQuest! Follow the Sasquatch mascot to discover 15 unique geocaches telling the story of climate action in the Puget Sound region – you might just discover your new favorite local trail, cafe, store, or museum along the way. Celebrate your completion of the tour with a commemorative geocoin, a full geotour passport, unique prizes, and local coupons! This family-friendly outdoor experience will give players hands-on understanding of the Issaquah Climate Action Plan and can be completed over a weekend. Happy caching!

GeoCache Cellphone

Geocaching is a fun, family-friendly global treasure hunt that promotes exploration, connection, and stewardship! Interested players can download the Geocaching app on their phone and make an account to instantly start playing. You can play all over the world at any time of day. The game provides you with coordinates that lead to all different types of cleverly hidden ‘caches’, which can be containers, markers, or other hidden items that hold a log paper inside for signing your name. There are over 3 million geocaches in the world and almost 30,000 in Washington state!

IssaQuest is an exciting opportunity for cachers of any age to travel around the unique city of Issaquah, WA learning about the many different aspects of climate action in the region. As a LEED Gold certified city, Issaquah certainly has lots to offer to visitors curious to learn about sustainability!

The tour will take players from the famous Jakob Two Trees art piece, through downtown Issaquah, up to the Issaquah Highlands neighborhood, and even into the forest at several trailheads. Each site tells a different story related to community action to protect the environment. Lowest-carbon footprint transportation recommendations can help to guide your adventure through Trailhead City – but make sure to stop to take in the fresh air and beautiful views!
