Why Juneteenth is an American Holiday?

June 20 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join us for an evening of learning and reflection about the historical and present-day significance of the Juneteenth holiday.

About this event

The City of Issaquah and its newly created Equity Board are inviting you to an in-person educational community event, featuring Mr. Delbert Richardson, owner/curator of the national award winning American History Traveling Museum – The “Unspoken” Truths.

With the use of authentic artifacts, and storytelling, Mr. Richardson will engage the audience in a thought-provoking dialogue on Why Juneteenth is an American Holiday that the entire family and residents of all ages can attend.

Following our keynote speaker, join members of the City’s Equity Board and other professionals, artists, and residents from all walks of life for a meaningful community building event honoring Juneteenth. Hear personal stories, learn about our history, and plan for an inclusive future where everyone in our community feels welcomed and included.
