Volunteer Opportunity: Miyawaki Forest Maintenance with Green Issaquah

Come join the Issaquah Alps Trails Club, Green Issaquah, and our Miyawaki Forest Youth Interns in maintaining Issaquah’s first Miyawaki Forest! This spring, we planted 35 different species of native plants for our Miyawaki Forest. As our Miyawaki pocket forest grows, we’ll need to continue weeding, mulching, caging, and monitoring the newest additions to our community. Spearheaded by our Miyawaki Forest Youth Interns, this maintenance event is part of our ongoing efforts to help meet the Issaquah Climate Action Plan goal of 55% tree canopy cover by 2035. You can learn more about the IATC’s work with the Miyawaki Forest here.
