“Let Them Speak” — Using Dialogue to Bring Fictional Characters to Life
Every single person has their own special voice. Our speech has varying tones and rhythms. Our language use is shaped by our background, origins, and surroundings. Like people, characters display a variety of looks, behaviors, emotions, and speech patterns. Giving our characters a unique voice brings them to life. This workshop uses fun, engaging readings and exercises to delve into the essence of our characters’ dialogue.
This workshop will meet from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on March 23, 2025 at Happy Time Studio located in the historic downtown Issaquah Creative District.
Taught by Cristie Coffing, the Let Them Speak! workshop is open to teens and adults of any skill level. No experience is necessary. All materials provided by Happy Time. Class fees are nonrefundable.
