Guided Cemetery Walk with Issaquah History Museum
Add to your list of “spooky season” experiences in Issaquah! Listen to history experts share stories about some of Hillside Cemetery’s most famous and infamous interred.
Hillside Cemetery in Issaquah was originally used by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) and was later deeded to the City by the IOOF. The earliest burials here date back to 1890. Over the years, the cemetery has become the final resting place for nearly 4,000 people. Many of Hillside’s current residents died too young, in mining accidents or epidemics or in childbirth. Others celebrated long lives, leaving memories and descendants. You’ll hear stories about Hillside Cemetery, the lives of some of those buried there, and what life was like in small-town Issaquah during the 1900s.
